“Israeli has been occupying Palestine for sixty years too long. Most Palestinian people still have no rights - it is a system of apartheid.”

Resistance National Coordinator Brianna Pike says, “It is timely that Isaac Suisha speaks at ¡Resistance 2008! so that Australians can hear first-hand about the reality of the occupation of Palestine. The conference will see hundreds of young people from all over Australia coming together to strengthen social justice and environmental campaigns and to feel inspired that we can change the world for the better.”

Suisha and Pike have pledged that ¡Resistance 2008! delegates and participants will call a snap solidarity street demonstration, should Israel invade Gaza during the conference. “Young people in Australia can play a role  in helping the plight of Palestinians,” says Pike. “We can strengthen the international voice for peace and justice, against the ongoing occupation of Palestine.”

Isaac Suisha will be just one of the international guest speakers at ¡Resistance 2008! held in Sydney June 27-29.

Isaac will be speaking at a public forum 6pm, Friday 27 June at the Guthrie Theatre, University of Technology, Sydney.
