Thirroul is a northern suburb of Wollongong and one hour south of Sydney Central. Its train station is an interchange platform and all services and express trains stop there. However, on weekends, access from the south in much easier than access from the north.

Travelling from Sydney

Train — visit Sydney's Cityrail website: www.cityrail.com

Catch the South Coast line (intercity line in blue: to Bomaderry/Nowra or Kiama) from Central station to Thirroul station. There'll be signs from the station to the venue. NB: The timetable for Friday afternoon is very regular, but most trains are packed with commuters. The timetable for Saturday morning will get to Thirroul station at 8.07am or 9.00am.

Driving — Follow the Princes Highway south onto the Southern Fwy (don’t take the Old Princes Hwy exit). Look for the signs. You need to be on the Fwy for roughly 20 minutes. At Bulli Tops follow the signs towards Bulli and take the exit at Bulli Pass. It is well sign-posted. At the bottom of Bulli Pass, turn left onto Lawrence Hargrave Drv. The Thirroul & District Community Centre is at 352-360 Lawrence Hargrave Drive, Thirroul (opp Railway Pde).

Travelling from the airport

Cityrail will tell you to catch a train from the Domestic Terminal to Wolli Creek to board a connecting train. However, South Coast trains stop at Wolli Creek irregularly (every hour at best), so sometimes it is quicker to catch a train to Central station and then a train to Wollongong.

To get to Wolli Creek from the Domestic Terminal is easy and trains run on the Airport and East Hills line every 5-10 minutes (City Circle to Macarthur). To get to Central is also straightforward and frequent (Macarthur to City Circle).
